Questions We Get a Lot
A traditional steam barrel sauna uses a wood-fired or water-poured-on-rocks method to generate humid, enveloping heat, giving you that classic sauna experience with rich, moist air. An electric barrel sauna uses a powered heater with precise temperature control, often including Wi-Fi panels so you can preheat remotely before you step in. Both styles are built for outdoor year-round use and offer a deeply relaxing heat session.
Cedar is a naturally durable, moisture-resistant wood that holds up well to the heat and humidity cycles inside a sauna, which is why it is the preferred material for barrel sauna construction. Routine care typically involves occasional sanding of interior bench surfaces, checking door seals seasonally, and allowing the sauna to dry out fully between sessions. Keeping the interior ventilated and dry goes a long way toward preserving the wood over time.
Barrel saunas in our collection range from cozy 2-person models ideal for couples or solo use with extra room, up to 4-6 person configurations suited for families or group wellness sessions. The curved barrel design is surprisingly efficient with interior space, allowing comfortable bench seating along the sides. We recommend reviewing each product's listed capacity and interior dimensions to find the right fit for your household.

About Our Barrel Saunas
Barrel saunas are a time-honored form of heat therapy that have earned a lasting place in luxury outdoor wellness. Their distinctive rounded shape is not just aesthetic — the curved interior allows heat to circulate evenly from floor to ceiling, creating a consistent, enveloping warmth that flat-walled saunas can struggle to match. Typically constructed from rot-resistant, aromatic woods like cedar, a well-built barrel sauna is designed to handle outdoor conditions across all four seasons without compromising the quality of your heat session inside. They are well suited for homeowners who want a dedicated wellness space in their backyard, whether for solo wind-down rituals or shared sessions with family and guests. When choosing a barrel sauna, consider the number of people who will use it regularly, whether you prefer traditional steam heat or the convenience of electric heating with digital controls, and how the heater size aligns with the interior volume. Assembly is handled by the buyer using the components provided. A barrel sauna is a long-term investment in daily wellness — choosing the right size and heat source from the start makes all the difference.
